U. N. O. is hosting the 1st EdCampLA.
We are ready to house 250 eager educators interested in collaborating and sharing best practices and creating new opportunities.
My vision is
- to be chatting, laughing, sharing, wowing and being amazed by 200+ of my colleagues from the greater New Orleans area.
- to have vodcasting areas where we share messages with others. If we can’t have live feeds we can definitely upload videos for sharing later;
- to have podcasting stations where we can create 6 word messages about our experiences;
- birds of a feather lunches where we gather and swap ideas on how to collaborate with other schools from the state;
- Tweets bearing the #EdCampLA hashtags
- Backchannels on Cover it Live
- a presenter’s wiki that presenters have loaded with tons of resources for us to share;
- forward thinking teachers bringing EdCamp resources back to school and sharing with those colleagues increasing our resource base; and
- informal EdCamps popping up on school campuses where teacher driven PDs are taking over where other PDs fall short.
I have high hopes and can’t wait for next month.
