I am passionate about SHARING

Hmmm that sounds similar to being good at sharing tech tools and I guess it is or could be but tech tools and resources are not the only thing that I like to share.  I share my daughter’s schoolwork, my student’s schoolwork, where I do my shopping, where I had dinner, my opinions about a topic, someone else’s opinion about something, why I like/dislike something, etc.  I share via Twitter, post on Facebook or post on my blog (not as often as I should although I am determined to work on that.)  I share in line at the store, in a faculty meeting, in the classroom or in the hallway.  I don’t really have a preference as to where or with whom I share.

I am a Foursquarer.  Why?  I really don’t know because I am not conceited enough to think that anyone is really interested in where I am eating dinner or doing my shopping but … I go somewhere and I grab my phone to check in.  Generally I check in with a blurb about what is going on and a picture of someone doing something at the site.  Again, I ask why..???  I really don’t know.  I just feel that it is my duty as a Foursquarer to share what is going on around me.

• Why these are so important to you in your life?  It is important to me to share because I love to talk. Duh..
• Do you spend as much time as you need to focusing on your passions?  I do not spend enough time blogging and I do intend to start blogging at least twice a week.  I intend to do weekly detoxing vlog/blog posts in which I talk/vent/share the events from my classroom in an effort to ‘remove toxins.’
• Do your students/children know what your passions are?  My children know that I am passionate about sharing.  I tell them often, I show them some of the things that I share and they hear me share often.
• Do you know what your students’/children’s passions are?  I know about the passions of some of them, not all of them.  Some of them are open to share this information but many are not.  Introductory student inventories are a way of getting this information but I think that it is more important to give them tasks and then listen to the responses.
